Influential Hispanic leaders in technology

National Hispanic Heritage Month is a celebration of Hispanic American contributions to history, culture and society and is observed from September 15th - October 15th. The day of September 15th signifies the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. To celebrate the influence of Hispanic Americans and technological achievements, MavenNext has collected a list of industry-leading visionaries from Evelyn Miralles to Carlos Slim Helu’ to Guillermo Diaz Jr. to Lili Gil Valletta to Arnold De La Fuente.

Evelyn Miralles, Associate VP at the University of Houston-Clear Lake

Miralles is a Venezuelan-American engineer that served as the Chief Principal Engineer with CACI at NASA Space Center, where she built a distinguished career of over 25 years and received multiple awards for her innovations, mainly in the software field. Her work at the Virtual Reality Laboratory furthered human spaceflight by training USA Astronauts to perform spacewalks and working outside a spacecraft in micro-gravity. Miralles is currently the Associate Vice President for Strategic Information Initiatives and Technology at the University of Houston Clear Lake.

Carlos Slim Helu’, CEO of Telmex, America Movil and Grupo Carso

Slim Helu’ is a Mexican businessman, philanthropist and investor. As an entrepreneur he became one of the wealthiest people in the world. His extensive holdings include; Grupo Carso, SA de CV, amassed interests in American technology and telecommunications, insurance, construction, energy, mining, retailing, publishing and finance.

Guillermo Diaz Jr, Kloudspot

Diaz is a hispanic transformative global business leader and champion of inclusion and diversity. He’s the CEO of Kloudspot Inc., an innovative AI and IOT analytics platform. In his prior role, he was a transformational innovator across Cisco and broadly in the industry, developing a strong track record for accelerating culture through people, process, and technology.

Lili Gil Valletta, co-founder and CEO of CulturIntel

Valletta was named to the prestigious 2022 Top 100 List for developing an innovative AI-Powered research platform, CulturIntel. She was listed as one of the most influential and notable Hispanic professionals in the technology industry. Valletta was selected for her firm's innovative development of the AI-powered platform called CulturIntel, which uses artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning and other big data tools to harvest public domain online conversations to understand what people think and feel about any topic - and why - without having to ask them any questions, across gender, ethnicity, and geographies.

Arnold De La Fuente, CEO and co-founder at MavenNext

De La Fuente created MavenNext, a ServiceNow Premiere Partner and workflow automation expert. He had over 20 years experience in technology, data centers and ServiceNow before beginning his own entrepreneurial journey. He started as a Service Delivery Manager and then later worked closely with data centers on a variety of platform transformation challenges. This work inspired him to found MavenNext and specialize in challenges on the ServiceNow platform while focusing on the values of innovation, compassion and teamwork. He wanted a consulting firm that put the client’s needs first, even if it meant more work up front.
